Opening Cultural Reception

The opening of the RocAfrik Festival 2025 began with the arrival of Auli, the renowned 15-member drum and bagpipes folk band from Latvia, at Kotoka International Airport in Accra. Their reception marked a powerful cultural exchange moment, welcoming international sound, rhythm, and heritage into Ghana. The airport’s welcome set the tone for the festival’s global outlook, celebrating cross-border collaboration, traditional music, and people-to-people connection as the heart of RocAfrik’s vision.

Opening Brunch | RocAfrik Festival 2025

Following the airport welcome, a cultural reception and brunch were held at Apprise Music Studios as part of the official opening activities for RocAfrik Festival 2025. The gathering created an intimate space for artists to connect, share ideas, and build creative relationships ahead of the festival.

The brunch brought together Auli from Latvia with leading Ghanaian musicians, including Abiana, Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, Osagyefo, Ayizam, and King Eazie. This moment of cultural exchange reinforced RocAfrik’s mission to unite global and African sounds, foster collaboration, and celebrate music as a shared language across borders.
